Looming

For the last week or so I have felt it looming in the distance.  I keep looking over my shoulder feeling something is out there.  I want to run........ to get away from it.  It's coming.

The days are becoming shorter, the mornings and evenings cooler, the leaves are dropping and I'm not happy!!!!  The cold reality is that Summer is coming to an end and it is just a matter of time before the snow flies.  This morning there was a commercial for snow blowers!  THAT'S RIGHT, SNOW BLOWERS!  August 30th and they are marketing snow blowers.  Someone needs to be shot!  Don't they know they are sending us SAD suffers into a tail spin before we need to?
A trip to the store yesterday and I saw Christmas!  I always thought Christmas in July was a joke?  Someone is taking it way to seriously.  Time out!
Someone told me southern California is the closest thing to perfect weather, I might have to forgo the fear of earthquakes and check it out.  Either that or the abominable snowman it going to chew me up and spit me out.

Picker Sisters

To tell the truth, I was envious of the Picker Sisters! .  I watched all 3 episodes on demand the other day.   Shucks, why didn’t they call me.  After all- not only do I pick, but I curbside recycle, dumpster dive, tag sale, and I’m not shy to drag it all home
Yes home, not to a shop in LA where a professional repurposes it all to pristine condition.  Don’t they remember my TV show “Habitat Enhancement” a mire 5 min. segment in Pam Frucci’s Island Eye back in the 90’s.  Don’t they know I furnished the girls duplex inside and out and filled their basement with “Free” or garage sale items.  I guess I’m 52 not in my 30’s, under fed, hair sprayed up, wearing daisy dukes, and talking baby talk.
But then I realized, shucks, I think I’m having more fun than those girls.  Nothing like sitting at home in the morning and getting a phone call from a friend letting me know what “finds” lurk on the side of the road.  I don’t need hair and make up to get me ready to throw on some clothes, no brushing of hair or teeth, just rushing out the door to get there before another treasure hunter beats me to it.
This morning in my robe I put a coat of chalkboard paint on a picture in a cool chunky gold frame.  A mini chalkboard to hang up somewhere around here.  Not putting a price tag on it to sell.  I guess I could do pickers math-

Picture-                     1.00 at garage sale
Paint-                        1.00 worth
Chalkboard-              Priceless

Unless any of you want to buy it?
