Rehomed

Happy to report that Mr. Lenny has found a new home!  No chicken dinners at this house, they have peacocks, ducks and more chickens for him to play with.  5 acres to free roam and a nice safe place to sleep at night.  No more crowing on Blackmore.... We will miss you Lenny AKA Penny.

21

  1. Marry the right person. This one decision will determine 90% of your happiness or misery.
  2. Work at something you enjoy and that's worthy of your time and talent.
  3. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.
  4. Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know.
  5. Be forgiving of yourself and others.
  6. Be generous.
  7. Have a grateful heart.
  8. Persistence, persistence, persistence.
  9. Discipline yourself to save money on even the most modest salary.
  10. Treat everyone you meet like you want to be treated.
  11. Commit yourself to constant improvement.
  12. Commit yourself to quality.
  13. Understand that happiness is not based on possessions, power or prestige, but on relationships with people you love and respect.
  14. Be loyal.
  15. Be honest.
  16. Be a self-starter.
  17. Be decisive even if it means you'll sometimes be wrong.
  18. Stop blaming others. Take responsibility for every area of your life.
  19. Be bold and courageous. When you look back on your life, you'll regret the things you didn't do more than the ones you did.
  20. Take good care of those you love.
  21. Don't do anything that wouldn't make your Mom proud.

I need to work on a few of these!

What the cluck!

Ok, I'm going to bitch.....  Over the weekend I watched a mother and her 2 small girls taking a walk.  They wandered down my street and made their way over to take a look at my chickens.  Mother stood by the mailbox and let the little ones run up to the cage and take a closer look.  Hey, I'm all for kids visiting my coop.  I welcome them to come on over and check it out.  But, as I watched out the window I was shocked that a cute little girl all dressed up, no more than 6 years old, began to violently kick at my chickens.  There was mom, looking on without batting an eye.  She stopped, but I still kept an eye on them out my window.  There she goes again, kicking up a storm.  I watched mom ignore again, so I decided I would go outside and confront them.  Well, by the time I rounded the corner they had started making their way down the street.  I haven't seen them before so I don't know them, but I just shook my head.
I think somebody needs a good old fashioned spanking!  Moms first!

My mama said it's nice to share!

http://brookegiannetti.typepad.com/velvet_and_linen/2011/10/an-incredible-historic-house-la-casa-de-las-campanas.html

As an avid reader of Brooke Giannatti's blog, Velvet and Linen, I often come across some beautiful homes she tours or designs.  This one took my breath away on how stunning it is.  I had to share.
Even the most lavish new home could never come close to the exquisite details this home has.

Enjoy the view
